"Those who live in the shadow of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91:1 When a death occurs, there can be a range of experiences--everything from immense pain and suffering to relief; from profound questioning to peace. Whatever the specifics of the experience, it can be a wonderful, helpful thing to be involved in a church when a loss occurs. It's an opportunity for God's people to demonstrate God's faithful and intimate love for people--a love that comforts, consoles, and heals.
As a Church, our primary goal during such times of loss is to provide pastoral and relational care for those who are left behind to grapple with grief. We strive to be exquisitely sensitive to the needs and emotions that arise as we walk together through the Valley of the Shadow of Death.
Because of our distinctives as a Church, NorthPark Pastors, Staff, and members feel a special calling to reach out and tangibly assist those who've suffered a loss. We love seeing God's kindness, like a light, shed on those who experience the darkness of death.
Our Pastors and Staff are available to counsel, comfort, coordinate, and facilitate.
In addition to person-to-person encouragement and guidance, we provide pulications and resources
which will provide essential information about options, facilities, and
a host of other things that will save time, money, and additional
heartache. Click here to download our publication "Funerals and Memorials at NorthPark Community Church".
Whether it's a Funeral or a Memorial Service, NorthPark knows how to meet the needs of family and friends who are faced with planning for what comes next.
When someone passes away, the details can be overwhelming. There are all sorts of arrangements to be made--from flowers to caskets, from programs to plots. We're here to assist so that you don't drown in decisions.
Many times the deceased person was (is) a person of faith. It is often possible to communicate in a tactful and sensitive but clear way the essence of their faith, affirming what was an important part of who that person was (is). In addition, people often ask the most profound life questions when someone they knew and cared about dies. It can be life changing for them to hear the simple truths of the gospel.
At NorthPark, we consider it a privilege to work with the family during this difficult time, getting a feel for who their loved one really was as an individual so that we can better put together a special service that really honors the life that has passed. We know how to specially tailor different elements to create moving and meaningful memorials.
What we really want you to know is that if you've come to this page because you've recently lost someone, we care about you.
If we can help, we'd love to. Contact the Church office at 29-North or e-mail us at info@northpark .com.
